Innovating for the Future
Our goal is to support and drive forward the movement around alternative lifestyles and new accommodation types. We travel full time to understand the needs of today’s travelers, interested in co-working, local tours and activities, membership clubs, communal living, hostels and hotel-hybrids. We’ve broadened our experience from traditional hotel branding to help usher in this new generation of travelers.

JASON CAMPBELL
Fitting today's lifestyle of digital nomad, Jason has been traveling full time to stay relevant and learn about emerging trends across the globe. Jason holds a BSBA with a concentration in Management from Christopher Newport University, as well as a Corporate Finance Certificate from Georgetown University and was named a Top Forty Under 40 candidate in 2016.
Jason grew up working in F&B establishments on the East Coast of the US, before joining Marriott International when he graduated college in 2008. He spent ten years with Marriott, working through on-property, operational roles at full service and limited service hotels, before moving into a full time travel role facilitating pre-opening staff training for the FOH and BOH departments at new or renovated locations.
The second half of his career was spent in corporate leadership positions at Marriott’s headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. Beginning in 2014, he built one of the fasting growing teams in the Americas who provided on-the-ground assistance to all the full service and luxury brands (Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Gaylord, Delta, Renaissance, Autograph Collection, JW Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton and Edition). The Operations Task Force team, or ‘paratroopers’ as Bill Marriott called them, consisted of managers across 13 disciplines, who provided intermittent support to hotels in need of short term management assistance (under-performing hotels, back-filling open positions, emergency support, conversion/openings, training, etc). Over two years, he grew this team from 15 to over 125 managers (most of them Millennials) who traveled full time providing services to hotels. His last role with Marriott was leading their Hotel Openings team for the Americas when the company was opening ~300 hotels a year, while launching their new Lifestyle brands, Moxy and AC Hotels, domestically.
In 2016, Jason left Marriott to embark on an immersive trip around the world, with a focus on learning first hand the change in travel and spending habits of the younger generations and the businesses which appeal to them, with a hyper-focus on accommodation providers. He has traveled to just under 40 countries across Europe, Canada, Australia, Asia, South Pacific, Central America, South America and the Caribbean experiencing hotel-hybrids, hostels, extended stays, glamping sites and co-livings alike, allowing him to gain insights on the alternative accommodations segment which cater to this younger demographic and the best practices which exist within these varying concepts.
Since 2017, he has been providing advisory and consulting services to companies who are looking to create, adapt or scale products and services targeting Millennials and Gen Z. These personal and professional endeavors keep him on the road most of the year, living within the various lifestyles of these target audiences.
Jason was featured in a LAMA interview in Q1 2019 as a Hospitality Industry Entrepreneur, an Outsite blog in Q3 2019 and Q1 2020, recently spoke about Generational Travel Trends at the University of Kentucky in Q2 2020 and is currently pursuing a certificate in Hotel Real Estate at Cornell University. He is also serving his second term as the Vice President of Careers for Christopher Newport University’s Alumni Society Board of Directors.
Today, Jason runs various lines of business for RED Hospitality and Leisure, a luxury hotel watersports company, which has grown 4x over post-COVID. His oversight of market management, regional operations, enterprise-level sales and marketing over the past three years, has helped the company achieve this growth.
Today, Jason lives in Hallandale Beach, Florida, with his wife and two dogs, while continuing to drive the growth engine behind RED Hospitality and Leisure, as they expand to over $55m in annual revenues across a dozen brands and hotels.
Whether it is conducting research, innovating new ideas or making operations more efficient, Jason has a breadth of experience to share from his life as a hospitalitarian.
